Employee Spotlight: Diana Burgess

We are excited to recognize Diana Burgess for Employee Spotlight! Diana is an Administrative Assistant for our Greenville, South Carolina, Division. Diana joined the team in May 2025 because she saw the chance to grow, learn new things and build her career. “I wanted to join a company where I could keep improving my skills and take on new challenges,” she said.

Since joining VSC, Diana has seen changes that have helped her team work more smoothly and effectively together. It has also allowed the team to better serve their customers, build stronger connections and continue to grow VSC’s reputation and brand. Janet Davis, Office Manager for our Greenville Division remembers her first impression of Diana as being “eager to dive right in and learn new things.” Janet met Diana when she interviewed for her position.

We asked Diana what one of the biggest challenges she has faced since joining and she said, “Over the past year I have taken on new responsibilities that required me to learn quickly and stay organized while handling multiple tasks. It has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my job and has helped me grow in my career and find new ways to help our team succeed.”

“Working at VSC is different because you’re not just filling a job opening – you get the chance to learn, grow and make a real difference. The teamwork, support and focus on always getting better creates a place where employees can succeed and build a lasting career,” Diana said. She has also had significant personal and professional growth since joining the team. Over the past year she has taken on new tasks, learned more and built skills that have helped her contribute to the team. Diana has become more confident in handling new challenges and responsibilities, and improved her organization, communication and problem-solving skills. “It has been very rewarding and motivating to see my efforts make a real difference for my team and customers,” she said.

Janet highlights how Diana has grown in her time on the team by “taking on increasing levels of responsibility and consistently delivering high-quality results. Through her commitment to continuous improvement, she has enhanced both her individual performance as well as her overall impact on the team.” Diana has a positive outlook and cheerful demeanor which makes her a valued member of the team. “She is someone others genuinely enjoy working alongside. She is dependable, consistent and ambitious.” Janet said.

One thing that surprised Diana about working at VSC is how much the company cares about its employees. “They try to help us grow, learn new skills, and take on different challenges. This truly creates a positive environment where hard work is appreciated and supported,” she said.

We asked Janet about how Diana has made an impact on the team. Janet remembers when Diana first joined, and shares that “despite having no prior industry experience, she embraced the challenge of creating structure where none existed. She developed an efficient system for tracking accounts, onboarding new customers and ensuring all agreements were properly documented and maintained. Diana had to think creatively and develop solutions from the ground up. Her initiative, adaptability and problem-solving skills played a key role in bringing order and consistency to this critical area of the business.”

In her free time, Diana enjoys tuning in to crime dramas. She loves a good mystery, investigation or suspenseful story that keeps her on the edge of her seat. Some of her favorite shows are “Criminal Minds”, “S.W.A.T.” and “Law & Order”. She also values her time with family – they spend a lot of time at baseball and basketball games, or a band event cheering on her kids. She also enjoys photography and crafts as well as DIY projects.

We are so lucky to have Diana as a part of the team. Her eagerness to learn, to better her team and help customers are a part of what VSC is all about. Thank you for all you do, Diana!
