Employee Spotlight: Angel Brader
Angel Brader, VSC’s Service Manager in Virginia Beach, first began working with the company in August 2014. She originally grew up working in her family’s floral business, but learned about VSC through family members and decided to apply. Angel has now become a leader on the Low Voltage Team and is a testament to the opportunities for growth at VSC.
Angel’s favorite part of working at VSC is the comradery between everyone, from management to new hires. Being a part of the team has made it easy for Angel to connect to VSC’s mission – a mission she strives to uphold and ensures her teammates achieve. Under her leadership, her team department delivers outstanding, efficient and cost-effective service.
Her greatest challenge initially was learning how to effectively advocate for the importance of fire safety and security systems. Today, Angel is proud of how far she’s come in her professional journey at VSC and the knowledge she’s gained in her nine years with the company. Her passion for fire protection and life safety is evident in her leadership and commitment to high-quality work, no matter how big or small the project is.
When asked about the best advice she’s ever heard, Angel said, “You learn something from every situation, good or bad.”
Outside of work, Angel can be found dining at her favorite local spot, The Butcher’s Son, watching “Catching Killers” on Netflix or planning her dream vacation to Greece.
Notes from Angel’s Supervisor:
Angel began her career at VSC as assistant to the Low Voltage Service Manager in Virginia Beach, John Sutphin. His first impression of Angel was that she was a hard worker, who went above what was expected of her. John has the utmost respect for Angel’s work ethic and looks forward to seeing all that she will accomplish in the future.
His advice to Angel is to, “keep doing what you’re doing.”
Angel leads her team every day in outstanding, reliable work and, as John notes, she’s a team player you can count on. In five years, John believes that Angel has the potential to be a Low Voltage Service Manager or grow even further in her career.
Angel makes sure each new hire feels adequately prepared for their role, mentoring them and stressing her open-door policy. She’s always thinking outside the box and going out of her way for her teammates and the customer. As John puts it, “every day she tries to put a smile on people’s faces.”
VSC thanks you for nine years of hard work, Angel!
