Paid Summer Internship
Join VSC Fire & Security for Pathways to Fire Protection, a paid summer internship program that is geared to inspire and engage high school students by introducing them to the fire protection and life safety industry. Through hands-on experience and mentorship from industry professionals, students will explore how they can make a difference in protecting lives and property.
This program is a chance to learn new skills and essential principals in fire protection, discover endless potential career paths and build confidence – bridging the gap between learning and real-world application. By participating, students will develop problem solving skills and gain insight into how fire sprinkler systems are designed, installed and maintained.
Apprenticeship Program
The VSC Apprenticeship Program is a four-year registered program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor that combines On-the-Job Training (OJT) with Related Technical Instruction (RTI). Apprentices will learn directly from experienced journey workers while earning a paycheck as well as receive nationally recognized credentials upon completion.

Eligibility:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be employed for 6 months before enrolling
How to Get Started:
Talk with your VSC supervisor about your interest in the apprenticeship program! From there you will need to confirm eligibility and available openings and then begin your journey toward becoming a journey-level sprinkler fitter.
