Recently our Springfield Sprinkler Division completed work on the CompassIAD project in Leesburg, VA. The project consisted of a two-level, 310,000-square-foot Data Center spanning a 10-month timeframe. VSC worked on 21 total systems including:
Nine TotalPac pre-action cabinets with integrated nitrogen generators
Eight TotalPac pre-action cabinets with remote nitrogen feed
One site assembled pre-action system
One dry pipe system
Two wet sprinkler systems
4,100 feet of 8” looped bulk feed mains
2,600 feet of bulk nitrogen feed
2,400 sprinkler heads
The project earned Will McLain, Foreman from our Springfield Sprinkler Division, additional recognition from the project’s general contractor, Hensel Phelps. From the beginning of the project, Hensel Phelps was impressed with Will’s overall dedication and drive to educate himself on the various systems involved.
“I’ve seen tremendous growth in Will since he first joined the project,” said Paul, Area Superintendent for Hensel Phelps. “Throughout the project, he maintained a humble attitude and committed himself to learning. Over time, he gained significant experience and knowledge, particularly with the pre-action panels and cabinets, which proved invaluable to the success of the project.”
Paul went on to explain how much he appreciated Will’s honest communication and responsiveness to the Hensel Phelps team, including his professionalism and willingness to adapt have made a noticeable impact.
“Will’s persistence and leadership in pushing the job to completion were critical to meeting our project goals,” Paul added. “His ability to overcome challenges, stay focused, and deliver quality results speaks volumes about his work ethic and commitment.”
