We are excited to recognize Samuel Wells in this month’s Employee Spotlight! Samuel is an Inspector/Service Technician at our Raleigh Sprinkler Division and joined VSC in April of 2024.
When we asked Samuel what initially made him apply to work for VSC, he said “VSC had a great reputation in the Raleigh area and that drew me to wanting to be a part of the organization.” Integrity is something that really stands out for Samuel, which is another reason he was drawn to VSC. He mentions that “Integrity is a 24/7 deal, not just at work but in my personal life as well.”
Over the past year, Samuel has seen the company and department grow with both customers and employees. His proudest achievement has been training and teaching other people who are newer to fire protection. He has enjoyed watching the advancement that others make. “Adapting and overcoming the steady increase of customers and work can be challenging,” he said, “but with a passion for fire protection, it makes it all worthwhile.”
Justin Helton, Inspection Sales at the Raleigh Division, met Samuel during an interview for the open position. His first impressions of Samuel were that he was a “Great guy and even better worker.” Justin mentions that Samuel has grown professionally, even completing his NICET Level 3 in Inspections and Testing, and has signed up for Pump Repair School.
When compared to working at other companies, Samuel said VSC really emphasizes putting time and effort into safety and training, which a lot of other companies put on the back burner. “I value a company that wants to see their employees safe and well trained,” Samuel said. Since joining the team, Samuel highlights that he has become more well rounded in fire protection, thanks to the courses and training provided by VSC.
Justin said that Samuel is “a team player” and motivates his colleagues to do quality work, while always focused on quality and doing the right thing. “Samuel is an outstanding and motivated individual” according to Justin.
When Samuel is not at work, you can find him watching any true crime show, being active and traveling. One of his bucket list items is to visit Australia. And it’s no surprise that the last book he read was NFPA 25 – Inspections and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
We are grateful to have Samuel as a part of the team! His dedication to the industry and commitment to quality resonate with VSC. We look forward to Samuel’s continued achievements.
