We are thrilled to recognize Jennifer Buck for Employee Spotlight! Jennifer is our Office Manager for the Baltimore, Maryland division. Jennifer joined us in December 2016 after working on weekends as a pastry chef. “I was looking for a career that would allow me to have weekends to spend with my family,” she said.

“I’ve observed VSC’s growth firsthand,” Jennifer said. “The organization has expanded its reach far beyond Maryland and Virginia, now serving multiple states. I value creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable approaching me for answers or advice,” she said. This requires Jennifer to balance her time so that she is accessible for employees when they need guidance.

Peter Anderson, VP Division Manager for our Baltimore, Maryland Sprinkler Division met Jennifer when he started in 2019. “My first impression of her when I met her almost 7 years ago was that she was a dedicated employee who would do any task you asked of her,” he said. “Jen goes above and beyond her job description on a constant basis. She is always helping out in every department to get tasks completed.”

We asked Jennifer what made VSC different from other companies she had worked for in the past and she reflected on the responsiveness to our employees. “VSC’s responsiveness ensures that employee support strategies are always relevant, reflecting a proactive stance compared to other companies that maintain outdated practices,” she said.

Peter also highlighted how Jen has grown professionally since joining us stating: “Jen has learned about our current and changing business processes by always asking questions and showing the initiative to learn. She is a positive reinforcement to company culture at our office. She sets a good example and her employees and others in the office enjoy working with her.”

“I am truly proud of how much I have grown with VSC. I believe my dedication and hard work have allowed me to continue my growth,” she said. “I have learned to slow down to become more thorough and careful in my work. The way I look at different situations and the way I approach them have changed as well,” she added.

In her time away from work, Jennifer enjoys eating at her favorite local restaurant, Hook and Reel, as well as fishing, and stand-up paddle boarding. On her bucket list, she would like to travel to Israel one day.

Thank you, Jennifer, for all you do for our team! We are lucky to have you and look forward to your continued growth and impact.
